Biesterfeld and French additive manufacturing specialist Lynxter announced a partnership on March 4, 2026, to supply industrial liquid elastomer 3D-printing systems-including RTV2 and LSR silicone platforms-in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The collaboration targets regulated sectors such as medical, defense, industrial tooling, and rapid prototyping in the DACH region, enabling the use of high-precision additive manufacturing systems with real silicones and polyurethanes. The agreement follows a previous cooperation between Lynxter and Biesterfeld in Norway in 2024.
Background
Biesterfeld SE, based in Hamburg, is a distributor and service provider specializing in polymers, rubber, specialty chemicals, and ingredients. The company reported annual revenue exceeding €1.1 billion for fiscal year 2024 and operates in more than 50 locations worldwide. Biesterfeld SE had annual revenue of €1.29 billion in FY 2024 and over 1,100 employees across more than 50 locations{{cite:}} Lynxter, founded in 2016 in Bayonne, France, develops industrial 3D-printing systems for elastomers. Its modular platforms, including the S300X and S600D, process silicones, polyurethanes, and related materials {{cite:}}.
Details
The partnership focuses on Lynxter's S300X - LIQ21 | LIQ11 platform. The S300X system processes real RTV2 and LSR silicones, with durometers from 5 to 40 Shore A for medical applications and 45 to 70 Shore A for industrial grades. It also handles polyurethane systems from 50 to 85 Shore A {{cite:}}. The platform achieves layer thicknesses as fine as 50 µm, features a heated and filtered build chamber, automatic calibration, and an IDEX dual-extrusion system with water-soluble support, enabling production of complex geometries {{cite:}}. Build volume is approximately 300 × 250 × 200 mm {{cite:}}.
Dr. Johannes Martin, Market Manager Composites & Tooling at Biesterfeld, stated that combining Lynxter's "unique platform" with Biesterfeld's materials expertise and market access enhances their ability to deliver "advanced, application-driven solutions to customers across highly regulated and innovation-focused industries" {{cite:}}.
Demonstrations of the technology are scheduled at upcoming events, including JEC World 2026 in Paris (March 10-12), AM Village in Albacete (March 16-20), and NCAM 2026 in Stavanger (March 16-18) {{cite:}}.
Outlook
Biesterfeld will facilitate the regional rollout of Lynxter's solutions in the DACH region, supported by its technical advisory and distribution network. Upcoming live demonstrations at major trade shows will provide stakeholders the opportunity to evaluate the platform's precision, material capabilities, and suitability for sectors with stringent regulatory and performance requirements.
